Seeking the Kingdom of God

This weekend our church participated in DNOW. The theme focused on finding what's next in our lives with a kingdom-focused lense.

I'm a planner by nature. I love setting goals and dreaming about what's coming next in my life. I can find what I want those next steps to be in a heartbeat, but that's not what I'm called to do. God calls us to seek His kingdom and take the next step toward what He's called us to do.

I plucked this week's memory verse from the end of a very eventful chapter in Luke.

It started out with Jesus being tempted by Satan and ended with him healing Simon Peter's mother-in-law. In between those events, the people of Nazareth kicked Jesus out of the synagogue. He moved on Galilee where He amazed the people and drove out a demon.

After He healed Simon Peter's MIL, He sought out some quiet time, but the people found Him and begged Him to stay with them.

What would you do? Move on to the next stop on your travels where you might or might not be well-received or stay where the people want you?

Jesus's kingdom focus drove His next steps, even when it wasn't easy.

What about you? What next steps does Jesus call you toward in your kingdom-focused journey?

As usual, you'll find the memory verse images below. Instead of a page of memory aids, this week I'm sending you a couple of websites to help in your journey.
